Pedestrian dies after truck crash

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in Crows Nest today.

About 11am (Thursday 2 May 2019), a woman, aged 83, and her husband were attempting to cross Willoughby Road, near Albany Street when they were struck by a cement truck that was travelling north on Willoughby Road.

The woman died at the scene, while her husband was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering shock.

The 35-year-old truck driver was also taken to hospital for mandatory tests.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and are conducting a full investigation.
