Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Ashfield today.
Around 3.45pm (Tuesday 26 November 2019), officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended a home on Orpington Street, Ashfield, following reports of an assault and robbery.
Police were told that a male approached a 72-year-old man and threatened him with a knife before punching him in the head and stealing a small sum of cash.
The male was last seen leaving the area in a White Hyundai Tucson travelling in a northerly direction towards Parramatta Road.
The male is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, aged between 30 and 40, with a solid build.
The 72-year-old man did not require medical treatment.
