Police arrest driver after serious crash McLaren Vale, South Australia

A woman is in a critical condition and a man has been arrested after a crash at McLaren Vale yesterday evening.

Just after 9.30pm on Tuesday 12 March police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Seaview Road and Victor Harbor Road after a truck and a sedan collided head on.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old McCracken woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old Findon man, was not injured and has been arrested and charged with aggravated cause harm by dangerous driving and drink driving after he returned a positive result of 0.093.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies beach Magistrates Court on 24 April.

Victor Harbor Road was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene but has since been re-opened.
