Police arrest man after brawl at Parramatta

A ninth man has been arrested and charged following a brawl in Sydney's west last month.

About 1pm (Tuesday 18 June 2019), a silver hatchback stopped near the intersection of Church Street and Argyle Street, Parramatta.

Three men alighted from the vehicle and were approached by a group of six males.

An altercation ensued, and several punches were allegedly exchanged between the two groups. Two knives were also allegedly produced.

Shortly after the three men returned to their vehicle and left the scene.

An investigation was initiated by officers from the Transport Action Group North-West with Auburn and Parramatta detectives.

As a result of police inquiries, eight of the nine men involved in the Church Street clash were arrested on various affray and weapons charges.

About 4.30pm yesterday (Monday 1 July 2019), a 26-year-old man presented to Mount Druitt Police Station. He was identified and charged with affray by officers from Transport Action Group North-West a short time after.

He was refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Tuesday 2 July 2019).
