Police investigate armed robbery at Wollongong

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at Wollongong overnight.

About 1.45am (Thursday 18 April 2019), a man entered a service station on Crown Street armed with a knife.

The man threatened the attendant, a 28-year-old man, demanding money, before fleeing with cash and cigarettes.

Police were alerted and officers from Wollongong Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

Investigators are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate the man involved.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 175cm tall, with a slim build.

The man was last seen running west along Crown Street.
