Police investigate carjacking at Toongabbie

Police are searching for three men following an armed carjacking in Sydney's west overnight.

About 12.15am (Wednesday 25 March 2021), a 20-year-old man was sitting in his white VW Golf on Junia Street, Toongabbie, when three unknown men - armed with knives - approached the car and forced him out.

The men entered the car and drove off along Junia Street.

The man was not injured and ran home before contacting police.

Officers from the Blacktown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

About 2am patrolling officers noticed the vehicle travelling along Rossvale Street, Toongabbie, and initiated a pursuit, which was terminated shortly afterwards in Leabons Lane, Blacktown, due to the manner of driving.

The armed men were described as having thin to medium builds, and their faces covered with bandanas.
