Police investigate indecent assault in Brunswick East

Police are investigating an indecent assault in Brunswick East last month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told the victim was walking north along the Merri Creek trail on Monday 9 July just after 5pm.

As she approached the eastern end of Albion Street she noticed the offender a short distance ahead, yelling abuse at her.

The man then aggressively indecently assaulted the 29-year-old victim, who fell into a metal railing behind her.

Her attacker pulled her hair before walking south along Merri Creek trail.

Police have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described to be Caucasian in appearance, about 177cm tall, aged in his 50s, medium build with short light brown hair.

He was wearing a black windcheater, with faded black jeans and street sneakers.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
