Stealing and Fraud Arrest in Midland, WA


Two women have been arrested as a result of an investigation into purse/handbag thefts by Mundaring, Northam and Midland Police, WA Police say.

It will be alleged between September and October 2016, the women stole handbags from shopping trolleys, mostly from elderly women shopping in supermarkets in the Mundaring, Midland and Northam areas.

The women were arrested in Midland today in possession of a shopping trolley full of property, believed to have been stolen from various stores earlier in the day.

A 33 year old Northam woman is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today charged with:

•Four counts of Fraud;

•Three counts of Stealing;

•Two counts of Possess Drug Paraphernalia;

•Possess Prohibited Drug and

•Unlawful Possession.

A 38 year old Northam woman was bailed to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court on 8 November 2016 charged with:

•Six counts of Fraud and

•Two counts of Possess Drug Paraphernalia.
