A teacher will re-appear in court today following charges over alleged unlawful sexual activity with a student in the Blue Mountains.
Earlier this month, officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a local teacher had sexually touched a student on a number of occasions while at school.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 49-year-old man at a home at Katoomba about 4pm last Friday (8 November 2019).
He was taken to Katoomba Police Station and charged with procure child for unlawful sexual activity, aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority of offender, and three counts of aggravated sexual touching of another person.
Police will allege in court in that man developed a relationship with a female student while he was working as a teacher at a high school in the Blue Mountains, during which he alleged indecently assaulted and sexually touched her on several occasions between 2015 and 2019.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday (9 November 2019), where he was granted conditional bail to re-appear at Katoomba Local Court today (Wednesday 13 November 2019).
