Two teens arrested over stolen car at Modbury North, SA

Police have arrested two teenagers after they were allegedly found with a stolen car at Modbury North overnight, according to SA Police.

Just before midnight police were conducting patrols along Montague Road when they spotted two people with a car parked at a service station which was closed at the time.

Patrols did a U-turn to go back and speak with the pair however one person ran off while a girl remained with the car.

With the assistance of PD Marley and her handler, a teenage boy was found by police a short distance down Montague Road and subsequently arrested.

Checks on the Toyota sedan revealed that it had been stolen from a Salisbury Heights address the night before.

An axe was also located in the back seat of the car.

An 18-year-old woman from Elizabeth Grove was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, drive unlicenced and carrying an offensive weapon. She was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 3 August.

A 17-year-old boy from Elizabeth Downs was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and provide false name and address. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court today.
