Commissioner Ian Stewart receives donations from Variety CEO Steve Wakerle, Queensland Police sayy

This morning, Commissioner Ian Stewart met representatives from the children’s charity Variety, including CEO Steve Wakerley, who stopped by at Queensland Police Headquarters on Roma Street to drop off gifts for the Commissioner’s Gift Drive.

The Commissioner’s Gift Drive has been running for 26 years, and Variety have been a major provider of gifts to the drive since 2010.

This year Variety have already provided around 1,000 children’s toys.

We have partnered with the Department of Child Safety and several PCYCs this year, and identified children in care and at-risk children in need of Christmas gifts.

The 2018 Gift Drive has 1767 children registered to receive gifts this year aged between 1 and 12 years of age.

We would like to thank Variety for their continued generosity in helping the kids of Queensland have a happy Christmas!
