Australia Post Pledges Continued Workplace Inclusivity

Australia Post

Australia Post today encouraged all organisations to commit to fostering a culture of access and inclusion as Group Chief Executive & Managing Director Paul Graham participated in the Australian Disability Network's first ever CEO Insights session at IMPACT 2024.

Mr Graham has challenged corporate Australia to build their accessibility approach on one simple question: "How can we do it, not why we can't".

"With 5.7% of our team members with a disability, tracking to be over 6% in FY24, we are focussed on building inclusive practices to provide accessibility for everyone in our communities.

"At Australia Post, we challenge ourselves to drive inclusion through creating the right environment for all our people and communities.

"Our Accessibility Matters Employee Reference Group has more than 100 members who are integral in the design and roll out of initiatives throughout the organisation that set up team members to do meaningful work and thrive.

"We are proud of the higher engagement and tenure our team members with a disability have at Australia Post," Mr Graham said.

Australia Post introduced the Workplace Adjustment Guidelines and Passport several years ago to support team members living with disability, ensuring they have the support they need to successfully do their role. The Passport makes it easier to request, implement and review workplace adjustments and enable team members to carry these adjustments as they progress through different roles within the business.

Inclusive practices flow through Australia Post's operations; team members with lived experience mentor leaders and decision makers to build deeper understanding of disability in the workplace and 'listen and learn' sessions run throughout the year to highlight workplace inclusivity.

Australia Post is one of the largest Australian employers certified as a Disability Confident Recruiter and has had an Access and Inclusion Plan in place for the past 10 years.
