$1 million speed find in Reservoir

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have located more than $1 million worth of speed following the execution of a search warrant in Reservoir this morning, Victoria Police say.

Members attended the Spring Street address as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary and car thefts about 9.25am.

Police allegedly located nearly 3kg of amphetamines hidden in a pile of car tyres.

They also seized a number of stolen items including two cars; and a number of power tools and other items suspected of being stolen from cars in the Northcote and Preston areas.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs (amphetamines), 3 counts of theft of motor vehicle and handle stolen goods.

He was remanded in custody by police and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
