Property Council Queensland Executive Director Jess Caire said 500 Women in Property provided an important opportunity to recognise and elevate the many women who make up Queensland's property industry.
"We're so proud that this Queensland-led program has grown from strength to strength in its first ten years, engaging over 5,500 women nationally," Ms Caire said.
"This year, we're excited to have 97 participants in Queensland, each sponsored by leaders within industry to help develop and advance the careers of emerging female leaders in property.
"The 500 Women in Property program highlights the vital role of women in the property sector, helping to make it Queensland's largest employer.
"But as we strive to meet the growth challenges facing our state, now more than ever we need to increase the number of people working in property and this program is helping to attract women to the sector to deliver the key projects that Queensland needs."
Former Property Council Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Queensland Division Kathy Mac Dermott, a driving force behind 500 Women In Property's establishment, said the program's ten-year anniversary was testament to the property industry's commitment to professional development and to grow the number of women leaders throughout the sector.
"The success and growth of this program, that actually started as 100 Women in Property has grown exponentially over the last decade; swiftly after it was launched it became over subscribed and we needed to expand it to 500 Women In Property quickly. We know sponsorship is critical to building careers across all roles. It is such an important initiative and it is wonderful to see it go from strength to strength; it is a huge achievement worth celebrating by industry and everyone who's participated over the journey," Ms Mac Dermott said.
"It's great that Queensland continues to be a leader in demonstrating the great opportunities within the property sector for women looking to build their knowledge, networks and careers."
Leading recruiter and Property Council Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Co-Chair Ineke McMahon congratulated this year's participants, reflecting on the role 500 Women in Property has played in advancing women within the industry.
"The property sector has come along in leaps and bounds over the past decade when it comes to including, promoting and attracting women to successful property careers.
"When we started this program a decade ago, it was essential to address the historic underrepresentation of women in our sector, helping to increase the number of women making their mark on industry and ultimately helping to deliver vibrant communities, to see how much it has grown reflects the need of programs like this," Ms McMahon said.
Participants in this year's 500 Women In Property will undertake a 12-month program, before sharing their successes and development with industry peers later in 2026.
