Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged a tenth man allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of Marvin Oraiha.
About 4pm on Monday 22 May 2023, emergency services were called to Hertfordshire Street in Elizabeth Hills, following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command located a 24-year-old man suffering several gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.
He has since been identified as Marvin Oraiha.
A short time later, emergency services were called to Cave Close in Green Valley and Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights following reports of two car fires.
Subsequently, crime scenes were established and forensically examined at all three locations.
Liverpool detectives – with assistance from the Homicide Squad – commenced inquiries before State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Hackenburg.
Nine people have been previously charged and remain before the courts.
Following ongoing extensive inquiries, about 10.45am yesterday (Wednesday 23 July 2025), strike force detectives attended a correctional centre in Silverwater where they arrested a 26-year-old man.
He was charged with murder and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and appeared in Burwood Local Court the same day.
Police will allege the man provided the firearms used in the offence and collected them after. It will be alleged he also provided instructions to the gunmen on how to use and maintain the firearms.
