11th coronavirus death in Tasmania

Peter Gutwein,Premier

It is with great sadness we confirm an 11th life lost to coronavirus in Tasmania, following the death of a man in his 90s overnight who was being cared for by the Mersey Community Hospital.

On behalf of the Tasmanian Government I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

This is the 10th life lost in the North West of the state and my thoughts are with the entire community in the region who I know are hurting right now.

We must continue to do all we can to reduce the spread of coronavirus and follow the rules put in place to keep one another safe.

So please, stay home and save lives.
