Communities across rural and regional NSW are set to benefit from upgraded health facilities, with the Minns Labor Government investing $12 million in minor capital works projects.
Delivered over two years, the $12 million Regional Health Minor Works Program will support essential infrastructure upgrades and enhance health facilities across regional, rural and remote NSW, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of local communities and deliver high-quality care.
The funding will support 17 projects across eight local health districts, including:
- Nearly $3.4 million to Murrumbidgee Local Health District to upgrade medical imaging equipment, establish a new satellite renal dialysis unit at Leeton District Hospital, upgrade ED amenities at Young Hospital, expand the ED waiting area at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, and upgrade the ED and consolidate imaging services at Corowa Hospital.
- Nearly $2 million to Far West Local Health District to expand the Broken Hill Community Health Centre, and upgrade two birthing suites at Broken Hill Health Service.
- More than $1.8 million to Central Coast Local Health District to refurbish five Community Health Centres, deliver a purpose designed Special Care Unit, and expand the Emergency Department ambulance triage zone at Gosford Hospital.
- $1 million to Mid North Coast Local Health District to support office and collaboration space for care coordination and multidisciplinary teams at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
- More than $850,000 to Western NSW Local Health District to install rooftop solar PV systems across five Multi-Purpose Services in Bourke, Warren, Nyngan, Coonamble and Molong.
- More than $810,000 to Southern NSW Local Health District to install a roof-mounted solar array at Queanbeyan District Hospital.
- More than $700,000 to Northern NSW Local Health District to refurbish the Aruma Community Mental Health facility in Grafton.
- $590,000 to Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District to refurbish the Shoalhaven Family Care Centre and the Nowra Community Health Centre.
This funding builds on the Minns Labor Government's $11.9 billion investment to deliver 32 new or upgraded hospitals as part of the 2026-27 Budget. This includes nearly $3 billion over four years for hospitals across regional NSW.
