The latest round of the Palaszczuk Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund is investing $13.7 million in grants to sporting and community organisations across Queensland.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D'Ath said the Gambling Community Benefit Fund was Queensland's biggest one-off grants program delivering up to $55 million each year for community groups.
"From the Cape to the border, sporting clubs and community-based organisations are the backbone of Queensland's cities, towns and suburbs," Mrs D'Ath said.
"Round 99 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund will deliver $13.7 million in grants to help 643 grass-roots clubs and organisations to improve their facilities, provide services or purchase new equipment.
"New playgrounds, scoreboards, kitchen upgrades, shelter sheds and spectator seating are among the projects financed in this round to help local groups to support their communities.
"These are community projects that might otherwise be out of reach without the assistance of the Palaszczuk Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
"It's a $13.7 million acknowledgement of the vital role of these organisations play in Queensland communities."
Mrs D'Ath said applications were now open for the next round of grant funding.
"The Gambling Community Benefit Fund delivers grants for worthwhile projects from $500 to $35,000 with applications now open to community-based, not-for-profit organisations," Mrs D'Ath said.
"If your community-based organisation has a project in mind, the Gambling Community Benefit Fund wants to hear about it."
Applications for round 101 close on May 31, 2019.
