15 Years On Road: Celebrating Local Legends Behind L2P

For 15 years, the TAC L2P Program has been giving young people across the Mornington Peninsula more than just a driver's licence – it's been giving them freedom, confidence and opportunity.

The program is designed to help learner drivers aged 16 to 21 (and up to 23 in some cases) who don't have access to a supervising driver or a safe vehicle – removing one of the biggest barriers to getting a probationary licence.

Since the program began, more than 1,200 learners have achieved their 120 hours behind the wheel. But the real story is the many volunteers who made it possible – community members of all ages, generously sharing their time, patience and wisdom.

Funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), managed by the Department of Transport and Planning, and delivered locally by Mornington Peninsula Shire, L2P has become more than just a driver education program.

It's a community effort, built on the generosity of mentors who give their time, skills and support to help young people succeed.

To celebrate the milestone, check out this short video featuring learner driver Jess and her mentor Marcus, whose story highlights the real impact of the program in action.
