17 people arrested in operation targeting anti-social behaviour, NSW

17 people have been arrested during an operation conducted by South/South West Police Transport Command, NSW Police say.

Police from Bankstown, Wollongong, Campbelltown, Hurstville and Cronulla satellites of the Police Transport and Public Safety Command with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit, conducted a high-visibility operation targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related crime.

The operation started at 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 22 February 2018) and concluded at 12.30am today (Friday 23 February 2018).

Police made 17 arrests for offences including possess prohibited drug, goods in custody and offensive conduct.

Officers also issued 27 move-on directions and 115 transport infringements.

More than 40 trains and 63 railway stations were patrolled across the afternoon and into the morning.

Similar operations will be conducted across the transport network in future.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
