A man has been charged with 18 historic child sex offences by investigators, NSW Police say.
The 77-year-old man was arrested at Forster yesterday, by detectives from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command.
He was taken to Forster Police Station where he was charged with 18 offences,
• Assault female and commit act of indecency – age less than16 years (16 counts)
• Carnal knowledge of girl 10 and under 16 years, and,
• Sexual intercourse with person under the age of 10 years.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between 1973 and 1977 in the Newcastle area.
He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 28 September 2016.
