A man has been charged after nearly $1 million worth of tobacco, cigarettes and vapes were allegedly found during a vehicle stop near Forster yesterday.
About 8.30am on Tuesday 25 November 2025, Highway Patrol officers stopped a northbound van on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook, about 20km west of Forster.
Police spoke with the alleged driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old man, before commencing a search of the vehicle.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized approximately 450kg of loose-leaf tobacco, 190,000 cigarettes, and 7,000 vapes.
The tobacco products and vapes have an estimated potential street value of $978,600.
The driver was arrested and taken to Nabiac Police Station where he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for two counts of goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
The Sydney man is due to appear before Forster Local Court on Wednesday 28 January 2026.
