$2.5M to Aid Flood-Hit Small Businesses in Queensland

21 South-East Queensland Councils will share $2.5 million in disaster recovery funding to help flood-affected small businesses.

  • Grants of up to $250,000 per council are available in eligible areas impacted by the 2022 South East Queensland flooding and rainfall event
  • The assistance is being provided in the 21 local government areas of: Brisbane; Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Goondiwindi, Gympie, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, North Burnett, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Somerset, South Burnett, Southern Downs, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Western Downs.
  • The $2.5 million Locally Led Economic Recovery Program aims to help regions impacted by rainfall and flooding events between 22 February and 5 April 2022.

    The councils can use the funds to promote local small businesses, attract tourists, encourage locals to be tourists in their own region and to shop locally.

    Grants of up to $250,000 per council are available through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

    Applications close on Thursday 27 April 2023. The grants must be spent by the councils by 30 June 2024.

    The $2.5 million Locally Led Economic Recovery Program is part of a $14.5 million Small Business Recovery and Resilience Package jointly funded through the DRFA.
