$20,000 worth of tools stolen from tradies in Hawthorn area

Boroondara police are appealing for assistance to identify a man after thousands of dollars' worth of tools were stolen from vehicles during a series of thefts in the Hawthorn area last month.

Investigators believe a male offender targeted several vehicles belonging to tradespeople, stealing in excess of $20,000 worth of tools in the early hours of Thursday 19 August.

A Black VW Amarok with distinctive chrome rims was sighted on CCTV at each location.

Investigators have released images of the Black VW Amarok, and a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
