2019 Gold Coast Show - Traffic changes

Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of traffic changes due to the 2019 Gold Coast Show.

The event will be conducted over three days, Friday August 30 to Sunday September 1 with over 50,000 visitors expected to attend this year's show.

Police have been working with the stakeholders to ensure the Gold Coast Show is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.

Motorists are advised that travelling near the Broadwater Parklands at Southport during this three-day event may result in possible delays due to the traffic changes that will be in place.

Major Events Group Inspector Troy Penrose said police will be present at, and around the show site to ensure public safety and minimal disruption to local residents and businesses throughout the event.

Possible delays and traffic congestion could be experienced on the following roads:

Friday 30th August 2019 0800hrs to Sunday 1st September 2019 2200hrs

• Speed Reduction to 40km/hr along Gold Coast Highway Southport:

North and South bound lanes in front of Broadwater Parklands between Welch Street and Sundale Bridge, between 0800hrs on Friday 30th August to 2200hrs Sunday 1st September 2019.

• Broadwater Parklands, internal access roads, Southport:

Broadwater Parklands internal roads and access to Mitchell Park, on Marine Parade, opposite end of North St, from 2200hrs Thursday 29th August to 2300hrs Sunday 1st September 2019.

2019 Gold Coast Show Fireworks Display

Gold Coast police would like to remind residents and pet owners that the Gold Coast Show will have a fireworks display at 8pm on Friday August 30 and Saturday August 31and at 7pm on Sunday September 1, 2019.
