Queensland's Natasha Roebig is a contender for the national 2019 Rural Women's Award title being announced in Canberra tonight.
Ms Roebig is one of seven State/Territory winners competing for the national prize of a $10,000 bursary to go towards their individual project.
Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner wished Ms Roebig the best of luck with national recognition of her project, which aims to encourage a new generation of beekeepers into the industry and greater information sharing and collaboration across the Queensland apiary industry.
"Applications for the 2020 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award also open this week," Mr Furner said.
"We want to hear from innovative, emerging female leaders involved in rural and regional industries, businesses and communities, who aspire to make a positive impact in their industry or community.
"The Queensland Government is proud to support the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award, which acknowledges the significant role women play in developing profitable and sustainable rural and regional industries."
