Mornington Peninsula Shire is pivoting once again and offering the reimagined 2021 Seniors Festival in October.

The Shire, our local community, businesses and organisations have put together a COVIDSafe calendar of events complementing a host of online and radio programming through the Victorian Seniors Festival website.

We also have many local events and offers across our Peninsula including:

  • Free plant giveaway at The Briars
  • Compost Like a Champion! Workshop at the Eco Living Display Centre
  • Tai Chi at Our Libraries
  • Community choir workshop
  • Downsizing your home online information sessions
  • Plus, lots more!

The festival launches with the inaugural Australian Ageism Awareness Day on Friday 1 October 2021. The day coincides with the UN's International Day of Older Persons and is an important way of raising awareness of ageism in our community. The 'Ageism. Know it. Name it' campaign from EveryAGE Counts is encouraging our community to attend a virtual morning tea to get conversations brewing about the impacts of ageism on our community – socially, economically and even physically. The morning teas can be hosted on any date and time that's suitable.
