Applications for the Devonport City Council's 2025 Community Financial Assistance Scheme are now open. This annual funding program is designed to provide meaningful financial support for a wide range of new initiatives, activities, and programs that contribute to the enrichment and development of the Devonport community.
Council remains firmly committed to supporting local organisations and community groups, recognising their essential role in building a strong, inclusive, and connected City. The scheme empowers these groups to deliver initiatives that foster social cohesion, improve community wellbeing, and strengthen Devonport's cultural and civic life.
The program offers two funding categories-Major Grants and Minor Grants-to accommodate projects of varying size, scope, and impact.
"These grants are vital in helping our community groups deliver meaningful outcomes for our residents," said Mayor Alison Jarman. "By investing in these initiatives, we are not only addressing current community needs but also contributing to Devonport's long-term vitality and resilience."
The Community Financial Assistance Scheme supports a diverse range of focus areas, including:
• Community development
• Culture and heritage
• Economic development
• Sport and recreation
• Healthy living and lifelong learning
Grants are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations and groups, and may be used to support infrastructure upgrades, events, community programs, equipment purchases, individual development, and charitable donations.
Applications open on Monday 1 July 2025 and will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025. Applicants will be advised of the outcome by October 2025.
