Applications Open for $5.9 Million First Nations Cancer Scholarship Fund Supporting Indigenous leadership in cancer care and research

Aurora Education Foundation, in partnership with Cancer Australia, is now accepting applications for the 2025 round of the First Nations Cancer Scholarships, a $5.9 million program supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership in cancer control.
Funded by the Australian Government through Cancer Australia, the Scholarship provides up to $120,000 per year up to three years, as well as academic, wellbeing and community support. It is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, health professionals or early career researchers enrolled in full-time postgraduate study or research in a cancer-related field.
Following a successful 2024 round that supported five Indigenous scholars, the 2025 program will prioritise applicants working in cancer care fields outside of medicine to strengthen cross-disciplinary expertise and representation.
