The Wyndham Writing Awards are now open for aspiring writers to showcase their creativity and have their work published in the Wyndham Writing Awards Anthology to win cash prizes.
The Wyndham Writing Awards aim to inspire, encourage and recognise emerging Victorian adult writers and literary creators. Entries are open to all Victorian adults, 18-plus.
Wyndham City's Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: "We have many emerging writers in our City and others whose talents are yet to be recognised."
"These awards offer the opportunity for new and unseasoned writers to challenge themselves, develop and grow their skills."
Prizes will be awarded for unpublished works in three categories:
- Short story: Between 1,500 and 3,000 words
- Flash fiction: Between 100 and 600 words
- Poetry: 60 lines maximum
Writer, Katherine Kovacic will be judging the awards and the total cash prize pool is $3,600.
Each category has a cash prize for an overall winner and a second cash prize for a Wyndham Local Encouragement Award, proudly funded by Wyndham City Arts.
All shortlisted entries will be published in the Wyndham Writing Awards Anthology 2025.
