The Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year will be named at the official Council Australia Day event at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown on Monday 26 January.
Mayor Kate Makin said the awards demonstrated the community's gratitude for the efforts of the Shire's selfless volunteers.
"Thank you to the nominees and everyone who contributes to making our Shire a wonderful place to live," Cr Makin said.
"Every year Council recognizes the many ways people give back and maintain our fantastic culture where volunteering is appreciated and actively supported.
"It's fantastic to celebrate the great work done by volunteers across our whole Shire.
"I invite everyone in the community to come to the Theatre Royal and join us in giving then the recognition they deserve."
The event will start at 10 am with all nominees to be presented awards and will include a citizenship ceremony.
Guest speaker Tony Murphy will speak about his significant emergency experience and the resilience of community.
"With senior roles including Deputy Commissioner & Director at Emergency Management Victoria and Fire Service Commissioner at the MFB, Tony played a key role during the St Patrick's Fires in 2018," Cr Makin said.
"He has been watching closely as the current Skipton situation moves from emergency response to community recovery.
"From his many years on crisis management he will be able to give great advice on building resilience to withstand inevitable shocks and stresses that come our way."
The event will finish with a free community barbecue lunch for all, thanks to the Lions Club of Camperdown.
