Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary in Southbank earlier this year.
Investigators have been told an unknown man gained access to a residential complex on Sturt Street about 11.30pm on 21 August.
Officers believe the man accessed a storage cage within the complex, stealing over $20,000 worth of jewellery, including several rings and necklaces.
Investigators have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance and is between 40-45 years old.
The man was seen wearing a black jacket, a maroon shirt, beige pants, white and red sneakers and a navy blue cap.
He was also carrying a green backpack.
Anyone who can identify the man or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
