30 kilograms of Cannabis found during vehicle stop in Wilcannia

Police have charged a man for drug offences after a car was stopped at Wilcannia, 10km west of Wilcannia Township, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 5pm yesterday officers from Barrier Local Area Command were travelling along the Barrier Highway, Wilcannia when they stopped a Holden Calais for a random breath test.

Following the breath test, police searched the vehicle where they allegedly located four bags of cannabis totalling 30kgs, and a sum of cash.

The driver, a 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wilcannia Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than commercial quantity and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

He was refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court, today.
