A multi agency search is scheduled to resume for a missing swimmer in Sydney's east.
About 4pm yesterday (Sunday 1 February 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a man swimming at the southern end of Maroubra Beach had failed to return to shore.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were informed that the man - aged in his 30's - was in company with several friends at the time of the incident.
With the assistance of the Marine Area Command, Surf Life Saving, Randwick Council, Toll and Westpac Helicopters a coordinated search was conducted.
The search was suspended at 6pm, however, is scheduled to resume at 8am today (Monday 2 February 2026).
