31 Minutes AgoSearch For Missing Swimmer - Maroubra

A multi agency search is scheduled to resume for a missing swimmer in Sydney's east.

About 4pm yesterday (Sunday 1 February 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a man swimming at the southern end of Maroubra Beach had failed to return to shore.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were informed that the man - aged in his 30's - was in company with several friends at the time of the incident.

With the assistance of the Marine Area Command, Surf Life Saving, Randwick Council, Toll and Westpac Helicopters a coordinated search was conducted.

The search was suspended at 6pm, however, is scheduled to resume at 8am today (Monday 2 February 2026).

Anyone with information about the matter - or was in the area at the time with any available mobile phone footage - is urged to contact Maroubra Police Station.
