31 year old NSW man charged over COVID related offences

A 31 year old New South Wales man has been charged with COVID related offences after allegedly entering Tasmania by air, in contravention of current COVID restrictions on 11 October.

As a result of investigations, Tasmania Police has today arrested, charged and detained the man.

The man has been charged with multiple offences contrary to the Emergency Management Act, the Misuse of Drugs Act, and the Family Violence Act.

The man is to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at 4pm today.
