5th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF CYCLE SALISBURY SOCIAL RIDES

All abilities are invited to join in on the cycling fun with various rides leaving from the shelter shed at Carisbrooke Park. This will include a fast paced and slower paced ride along Little Para and/or Dry Creek Trails. Mountain bike option along Cobblers Creek will also be available.

City of Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge, OAM said Salisbury has an extensive network of more than 77km of walking and cycling trails within its boundaries.

"We are so fortunate in this area to have lots of stunning hidden walking and cycling opportunities all of which are not well known among many locals."

"The celebratory social ride is open to everyone so bring a friend or two and enjoy a magnificent day exercising in a wonderfully social day."

Along the ride, you will be able to visually grasp the historical buildings and structures along the Dry Creek Trails which have survived within the park from the days when the quarries were worked by inmates of Yatala Labour Prison. The City of Salisbury section of the trails runs west from Down Drive Valley View, through Walkley Heights, Pooraka and Mawson Lakes to Globe Derby, where it joins up with the Little Para River Trail.

If you want something a little more challenging, take a mountain bike ride to Cobblers Creek and immerse yourself in the views as you explore the trail. The Cobbler Creek trail runs from Salisbury Heights within the Cobbler Creek corridor just below Bridge Road to Main North Road.
