The ACT Government has signed contracts with Acusensus Australia Pty Ltd and Orikan Australia Pty Ltd to support the next stage of modernising the Territory's traffic and parking systems.
The contracts deliver on the ACT Government's commitment to replace ageing infrastructure and introduce contemporary traffic and parking enforcement services that support road safety, customer service and operational efficiency.
Acusensus will provide transportable and fixed enforcement cameras across the Territory. The cameras will be capable of detecting road safety offences.
Orikan will deliver the Territory's new parking solution and infringement management system, helping to provide a more integrated and efficient experience for drivers.
Kirra Cox, Executive Branch Manager, Data, Projects and Improvement, said the contracts mark an important milestone in the delivery of the ACT Government's ongoing investment in modernising traffic and parking systems.
"These contracts are an important step in delivering modern, reliable traffic and parking services for the ACT community.
"The new systems will replace ageing infrastructure and support the Territory's ongoing road safety objectives, while also improving the way drivers access parking and infringement services."
The ACT Government has committed ongoing funding to modernising traffic and parking systems through a series of budget investments. The multi-year initiative is focused on replacing legacy infrastructure and delivering contemporary technology and services that support the continued operation of traffic and parking services across Canberra.
The ACT Government looks forward to working with both providers to deliver the next stage of the program to provide modernised traffic and parking systems for the ACT community.
