Acting CEO Announces Resignation

Council today announces the resignation of Acting Chief Executive Officer James Ruprai, who has served in the role for the past eight months and as Director City Development for nearly three years.

Mr Ruprai has made the decision to step down to pursue new professional opportunities and spend more time with family.

Reflecting on his time with the Council, Mr Ruprai said that it has been an honour to serve the Shoalhaven community and work alongside such dedicated colleagues.

"I'm proud of what we've achieved together, particularly in advancing our financial sustainability objectives and streamlining our processes. I leave with deep gratitude and confidence in the Council's future," he said.

Mayor Patricia White said that he had provided a positive contribution to the organisation and thanked him for his leadership.

"James has been a steady and thoughtful leader during a time of transition and has provided considered direction and helped to induct and onboard the new Council," Cr White said.

"As a Mayor and Councillor, I appreciate the contributions James has made that will have a lasting impact on the Council and the Shoalhaven, for years to come," she said.

"I thank him for his service and wish him all the best in his next chapter.

Mr Ruprai will remain in the position until 31 July, when the recruitment process for the new CEO is expected to be complete.
