Additional Charges Filed Following Gunning Driver's Hospital Death

Additional charges have been laid after a driver died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash in state's south.

Just after 4.30pm on Wednesday 19 July 2023, emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Gunning, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from The Hume Police District found a semi-trailer and Toyota had collided.

The Toyota driver, a 74-year-old man, was freed by emergency services and airlifted to Canberra Hospital, in a critical condition.

The truck driver, a 50-year-old man, was not injured and charged with driving offences. He remains before the courts.

Yesterday (Sunday 30 July 2023), crash investigators were notified the 74-year-old man died in hospital.

As a result, two additional charges have been laid including dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death

The 50-year-old man is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 30 August 2023.
