Additional charges laid against Corrective Services officer over fraudulent document submissions

Detectives have laid 12 additional fraud charges against a Corrective Services NSW officer.

In December 2019, detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit commenced an investigation following reports a female corrections officer was submitting fraudulent documentation to support sick leave applications.

Following extensive investigations, detectives charged a 53-year-old woman in December 2019. She remains before the courts.

Following further investigations, the woman was charged with 12 additional counts of use false document to obtain financial advantage at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 12 March 2020).

Police will allege in court that the woman submitted fraudulent doctors' certificates as supporting documents for sick leave applications while working at a correctional facility at Silverwater.

She is next due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 26 March 2020.
