Have your say on Tranche 2 of the Voluntary Emissions Estimation and Reporting Guidelines for:
- agriculture
- fisheries
- forestry.
These sectors have asked the Australian Government for consistent guidance on emissions estimation and reporting.
Expectations for emissions information from producers is increasing due to:
- changing market expectations
- supply chains and financial institutions monitoring progress against their climate commitments.
Producers who use a GHG (Greenhouse Gas Emissions) calculator aligned with the Guidelines can be confident in the consistency of their results. This will support producers when working alongside customers and financial institutions.
The guidelines aim to:
- improve the quality and consistency of estimation methods and tools
- ensure these industries have trusted tools to understand their emissions.
We consulted on Tranche 1 in November 2025 and we thank stakeholders for their feedback.
Have your say on the Tranche 2 emissions guidelines before 5pm AEST Friday 8 May 2026.
Your feedback will help us deliver guidelines that meet the needs of all users and stakeholders.
