AFP Probes Out-of-School Hours Care

Willoughby City Council is aware of media reports and a statement from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) relating to a police investigation involving Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) centres, including ten located within the Willoughby local government area, three of which are Willoughby City Council-run services.

The AFP has charged a 26-year-old man over the alleged production of child abuse material through his employment at OSHC facilities across Sydney between April 2021 and May 2024.

The man has been in custody since 12 October 2024 and does not pose a current risk to the community. All affected families have been contacted directly by the AFP and NSW Health, with support services offered and continuing to be available.
