Aggravated break-in at Guildford

Police have commenced an investigation after an aggravated break and enter occurred at a home in Guildford overnight.

Shortly after 2.30am (Wednesday 10 April 2019), a 31-year-old woman and her four-year-old son were asleep in their Guildford Road home unit.

A 32-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were also staying at the home.

The woman was awoken by noises coming from the loungeroom.

When the resident went to the loungeroom she was confronted by a male armed with a knife who threatened her and demanded cash.

Three other males were also in the unit.

The armed man then tried to force his way into the second bedroom, but the couple were able to successfully barricade their door.

The four men then ransacked the unit taking a television with them.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were alerted and attended a short time later. The officers conducted a search of the area but could not locate the offenders.

The man armed with the knife is described only as being of Caucasian appearance in his late 20's. He was between 170 and 180cm tall and was wearing a grey hoodie.

A second man carried a black bum-bag over his shoulder while the two other offenders are not further described.
