Police are at the scene of an aggravated robbery at Darlington.
Just after 9.10pm today (Saturday 23 November) a man armed with an axe entered a supermarket on Seacombe Road threatened staff.
He fled with an amount of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured.
The suspect was wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants and was carrying a black backpack.
