Alcohol seized Ti Tree

Two people have been issued with Liquor Infringement Notices and had their alcohol destroyed by Northern Territory Police on the weekend.

Around 3pm on Saturday, Ti Tree Police stopped a vehicle travelling on the Laramba Access Road when the driver mentioned he had made the 400km round trip to purchase alcohol for a football party, Northern Territory Police say.

A search of the vehicle located 20 bottles of wine and two bottles of spirits hidden under blankets in the boot of the vehicle.

Two passengers, aged 23 and 42 admitted they were taking the alcohol to the Alcohol Protected Area of Laramba, 205km north-west of Alice Springs and were each issued a Liquor Infringement Notice for taking alcohol into a restricted area.
