ALDI/IGA carpark limited access during tree assessment

Kempsey Shire Council

Bunya Pine at ALDI IGA carpark

From early morning Monday 7 February Kempsey Shire Council will be barricading off a large section of the footpath, laneway and some of the carpark area at the carpark adjacent to ALDI and IGA in Kempsey.

This is happening so that specialist testing can occur on the Bunya Pine in the carpark.

Due to the significance of the tree, Council staff are working in collaboration with specialists to determine the current health and integrity of the tree and develop a future management plan for the site.

The planned testing will not have a negative impact on the tree's health.

We appreciate the patience of those using this area while the work is being undertaken.

It is hoped that the work will be completed by Monday afternoon.
