Highett Youth Club was successful in obtaining an Inclusive Community Grant from Bayside City Council to launch a new All Abilities Kindergym program. The class will run on Fridays from 12.15pm - 1pm. All Abilities Kindergym is open to children aged 2-5 years (pre-school) who have additional needs and would like more support and attention than they would receive in a mainstream Kindergym class.
Lights, sounds and colour are minimised to cater for children with sensory sensitivities and realistic goals are set for each child's ability. The children will be using the regular gym equipment as well as sensory movement equipment. Parents and carers are encouraged to get involved in the classes.
