Prahran Frontline Tactical Unit and Highway Patrol officers were kept busy in the streets around Chadstone earlier today performing Operation Outlook.
The operation was established to target drivers using their mobile phones.
The plainclothes and uniformed officers detected 74 offences with 41 of those offences being the use of mobile phone while driving.
Each mobile phone user detected will receive a $496 fine and four demerit points.
The operation will continue to be conducted in the Chadstone and other targeted areas on a regular basis.
