Allens advises TfNSW on $2.2 billion Coffs Harbour Bypass Project

Allens has advised Transport for NSW on a Collaborative Design and Construction Deed with the Ferrovial Gamuda Joint Venture as part of the $2.2 billion Coffs Harbour Bypass Project.

The project includes a 14 kilometre bypass of Coffs Harbour, which will save 11 minutes travel time. The project forms part of the Pacific Highway upgrade, which is one of the largest road infrastructure programs in NSW, and will be a key connector between NSW and Queensland.

'The Collaborative Design and Construct Deed was developed to address challenges presented by the current construction market. The allocation of risk has been formulated pragmatically and in a manner that achieves the objectives of both parties. TfNSW has been truly responsive to the demands of the market and creative in finding solutions that deliver value for money to NSW,' said Partner Leighton O'Brien.

'We were fortunate to partner with a passionate and innovative team from TfNSW. The Project was procured against the backdrop of ongoing COVID-19 challenges and the impacts of the war in Ukraine. Those challenges have been worked through and we congratulate TfNSW and the Ferrovial Gamuda Joint Venture on an excellent outcome,' said Managing Associate Michael Hogan.
