An ancient gathering place

During the International Year of Indigenous Languages we are highlighting an ABC initiative that looks at the meaning behind place names.

Just outside of the town of Parkes, in New South Wales, is a place called Mugincobile-a traditional gathering site of the Wiradjuri Nation.

Wiradjuri language teacher Lionel Lovett takes us to Mugincobile and shares the significance of the area.

The 'This Place' project invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to create a short video about a place name, and the story behind it.
